ThinClient Solution

The SBC (Server Based Computing) technology combined with the ThinClient Solution is a highly efficient way to prioritize productivity and secure data in a network. A ThinClient is a centrally managed, very low cost workstation that performs regular computer functions with no local processing, cd/dvd rom, or hard drive. The Server Based Computing (SBC) technology was designed so that the server is responsible for all running processes. Programs are installed, managed, and executed by the server, which also controls users and their actions. In general, they are not as vulnerable to malware attacks, have a longer life cycle, use less power, and are less expensive to purchase.

The ThinClient sends information from the keyboard and mouse to a server, that processes all requested actions, and then sends the data back to the ThinClient. Therefore, all actions including data storage completely managed on the server, making the network faster and easier to manage regardless of its dimension.

ITQ offers the ThinClient Solution to government departments as this solution may improve IT management of a government unit.

    • Installation and software update – at the server despite users’ customization: Within minutes, all users are able to use a software new version as the action is performed only one time by the server, and not by each workstation.
    • Hardware and Software stability: There are no separable parts and the operational system is always protected, reducing users’ downtime due to support needs. This way, users are more productivity as their need for support and downtime are reduced.
    • Working continuously: For hardware maintenance, the users section will remain intact in a server. This way, customer can use any other thin client and continue working, without losing data and without wasting time.
    • Data management: All data is salved in one point of access, allowing an effective and consolidated backup policy. ThinClient doesn’t save documents locally because hard disk and USB port can be controlled by the network manager.
    • Virus attack: As there is no hard disk at the thin clients, the chances of a virus infection are drastically reduced.
    • Green IT: One ThinClient uses approximately 80% less energy than a desktop, and its heat dissipation is minimum. Green IT also offers other advantages.
